Subject - which leg for circuit breaker?
loren The switch/circuit breaker on my cement mixer got ripped off. Which leg goes through the circuit breaker and which is switched?
Thanks
Loren
lctrc789 Is this a 120 volt mixer?
If it is, I can't say without really seeing it for sure but if it is 120 volt it wouldn't matter if it is just two wires one to the breaker one to the switch or motor.
loren Yes, it's a 110v motor. Would the hot go through both the breaker AND the on/off switch, or would just one go through each? Logically it seems it wouldn't matter, but....
Thanks
kbsparky I would use a double-pole switch, in case an extension cord had a reverse-polarity problem. That way, you'd be sure that when the switch is in the "off" position, both current-carrying conductors would be disconnected from the equipment, resulting in a safer working environment.
