The local AHJ is trying to make me put two recptacles on one peninsula. He says that there is more than 48" in-between a recptacle on the adjacent wall counter space and the recptacle on the peninsula . I don't believe that it is even an interpertation issue. 210-52(c)(3) Is it worth fighting him on it?

I think it is definitely not worth fighting for , but it is definitely worth discussing with him. The peninsula is required to have at least 1 receptacle. If the peninsula is divided by a sink, range, etc... and the countertop is 12 inches or more, than you will be required to install an additional receptacle.

| AHJ some use international code as well as NEC A receptacle outlet shall be installed at eash island or peninsular countertop with a long dimension of 24 inches or greater and a short dimension of 12 inches or greater. Receptacle outlets to serve island or peninsular countertops shall be installed above, or within 12" below the countertop. receptacles outlets shall be installed so that no piont along the centerline of the long dimenison is more than 24 inches measured horizontally, from a receptacle outlet in that space. a peninsular countertop is measured from the connecting edge. so the inspector is correct.
