Subject - Please help I need to fry my laptop with a 220v
Gomer56 Hello, I need some help. My laptop will no longer boot up windows. I took it to a computer shop and they said they could not fix it. I do not have enough money to buy another one and I must have one for school. So, I am left with the service plan that covers surges. How can I induce a surge that will make it no longer work? Please help. I will try anything.
kbsparky Some of the newer computers have "smart" power supplies in them. That means they will operate properly on any voltage from about 105-250. Which means they will work in most any country, on their nominal system voltage.

Which also means you won't be able to fry it by hooking it to 220 Volts.

Willfully burning it up with an induced surge is insurance fraud, and should be discouraged.

Well Gomer56, we will not help you to do something that unethical. It is considered fraud and we can not support such activity. Sorry I have to do this but this thread is locked.
