HELP! I HAVE TWO BATHROOMS WIRED BY THE SAME ELECTRICIAN. IN EACH I HAVE TWO CEILING LIGHTS (75 WATTS CAPACITY EACH) ON ONE SWITCH AND THE LIGHTS ARE BURNING OUT AT A VERY FAST RATE. ALSO, THE RECEPTICALS ARE GETTING VERY HOT, WHICH I SUSPECT HAS A LOT TO DO WITH WHY THE LIGHTS ARE BURNING OUT SO OFTEN. THERE HAS BEEN NO TRIPPING OF BREAKERS AS A RESULT. ALL WORK PASSED CITY INSPECTION. CAN YOU GIVE ME ANY IDEA WHAT MAY BE CAUSING THIS PROBLEM?
THANK YOU,

| I would like to welcome you to the Electrical Knowledge site. Not sure what is going on there but you need to get a professional electrician there as soon as possible. Something is wrong. Might want to get someone other than the one that wired it. Jim

| You are saying recpts, getting hot, you mean hot to touch with nothing on but a light? You need to get some one there Maybe call some on else and have this looked in to I would say pretty fast. Recpts. should not be hot and you could have some loose connections or something that is cauing heat, That is not a good sign. Good luck and let us know what you find.

| I agree. Get it checked out RIGHT AWAY !!! May be loose wires. which can be a real problem. Receptacles should remain cool to the touch. Let us know how things progress

| You have to call an electrician FAST, I agree with the others could be a loose connection, I once had a service call with a hot to touch receptacle, the problem was a grounded conductor that was not landed properly in the panelboard. But just the same call an reputable electrical contractor to check it, Let us know how you make out.
