are the travelers connected one set per side of the 4-way or does each set of travelers connect to both sides?

| I've seen that several times. I'm not sure that I understand it correctly. If anyone could answer my question thanks in advance.

| Hi,
Maybe this enhanced version of Greg's drawing will help.

You could also use an Ohm meter and a 4-way switch to figure out which wires go where.

| uniplex,- It depends on what brand of 4-way you are installing. The brand I install has an input/output marked on back of switch. Just put 1 set of travellers from the same cable to input, and the other to output.

| The idea is that the 4-way switch either sends the current through the trvelers color wire to same color or it switches them in the form of an X

| Leviton uses one way to hook them up, P & S has another, sometimes there is a diagram on the back of the box, or the screws are color cordinated.
