Subject - 4-way switches
uniplex are the travelers connected one set per side of the 4-way or does each set of travelers connect to both sides?
smokumchevy Just like this:

-Greg
uniplex I've seen that several times. I'm not sure that I understand it correctly. If anyone could answer my question thanks in advance.
Dave Nix Hi,

Maybe this enhanced version of Greg's drawing will help.

You could also use an Ohm meter and a 4-way switch to figure out which wires go where.
zapped208 uniplex,- It depends on what brand of 4-way you are installing. The brand I install has an input/output marked on back of switch. Just put 1 set of travellers from the same cable to input, and the other to output.
uniplex ok thanks alot.
John A. Peters The idea is that the 4-way switch either sends the current through the trvelers color wire to same color or it switches them in the form of an X
Mike Delaney Leviton uses one way to hook them up, P & S has another, sometimes there is a diagram on the back of the box, or the screws are color cordinated.
JimmyDee I always go by screw color.
