	Subject - POWER FACTOR pvrss2 KINDLY EXPLAING THE FACTORS GOVERNIGN FOR IMPROVING THE POWER FACTOR JimmyDee I copied this post from another post here and if this doesn't cover what you need to know. Maybe I or someone else can expand on it more, A big cause of low power factor is florescent lights. Most ballasts made today are PF corrected but the capacitors can go bad after time. Unloaded transformers are really bad as well as motors that have been over sized for what ever reason. Like has already been said, adding capacitance will improve the PF. That can be done by adding capacitors or a Synchronous motor that is setup for PF correction. Jim
