I am a complete novice when it comes to electricity. I have some outside lights that stopped working. What do I need to buy to test each light and can someone provide step by step instructions for me to test where the problem is. Thanks

| You can get a voltage tester from your local home depot store. Try unscrewing the bulb with the switch on and touching one lead to the shell where the bulb screws in and the other to the contact in the bottom of the socket. Try this first and let us know.

| be careful not to touch the contact at the bottom and threads of the socket at the same time with your tester prong!
