Subject - 400 amp meter can

i am installing 2 200 amp main panels one for the house and one for thew barn. i have a 400 amp meter panel and have a question. on the meter does th 2 hot feeds connect thruogh the top of the meter or the bottom? i have 2 lugs on top 2 on the bottom and a ground lug. any info is appreciated....thanks

| I am hoping some one is helping you or doing this for you as this question is not that of an experienced electrician in which this forum is really for...
Generally the line side goes to the top and the load side goes to the bottom of the meter, grounding is up to your local jurisdiction as to whether the meter gets a ground or not with the service....
