Subject - gas furnace fla question
doug does anyone know anything about determining what the FLA is for a specific furnace? I know what the nameplate states in this case: .71, however the nameplate also lists the almpacity as 12.9 amps. This may sound pretty stupid to someone who deals with furnaces all the time, but I am dealing with a trane system, or several(8) which are going to be combined , or paired to result in four units. I am wanting to give them one power source, however the NEC requires that in order to do that, the FLA has to be less than 6 amps. so according to the nameplate, which lists the pertinent electrical components seperately, the FLA for this unit is .71, but this does not seem correct to me any ideas?? thanks in advance
