Can I use the numbers in table 310.15(B)(6) for sizing feeders from a generator set to the auto transfer switch, or is the table for main service feeders only?

| I would think those wire sizes are appropriate, as long as you are dealing with a dwelling unit. Gotta be an expensive setup, if you are installing a generator set capable of delivering the full load required such that the rating is the same as the supplying utility

| Thanks Ken, Customer supplied switch and generator, set in place, installed 200 gal lpg tank and saved the wiring for me. Oh did I mention he buried 2" pipe w/ 4 45 degree bends (hope they're not 90's) that's why I want to keep the wire size as small as possible and I wasn't sure if I'd seen need for full or oversized conductors somewhere. Now that I think about it, the generators' rated output was 166.6 amps and I think he said that and the switch was $10000.00 but...it is part of keeping his wife happy through a divorce settlement .

| If you are going to bury the conductor in conduit it will have to be designated as suitable for wet locations.
