| No question about it, I would recommend a 200 amp service. It's ok to have too much. It's really bad to not have enough.

| CHECK OUT THE LOAD CACULATOR.I HAVE INSTALLED A 400 AMP MAIN SECTION WITH 2-200 AMP MAIN PANELS IN 4000 SQ. FOOT HOME.THERE WERE 2-KITCHENS 4-A/C UNITS, GUEST HOUSE AND A WATERFALL SWIMIMG POOL.CHECK YOUR LOAD CALCS,AND USE YOUR MULTIPLIERS.

| I have only seen one or two large homes in my past that would ever come close to overloading a 200 amp service. They were electric heated homes with all electric appliances. A 200 amp service can be purchased for a little more than a 100 amp (a couple of hundred dollars) and will give room for all kinds of expansion for the future. Did a quick load check with the load calculator and was liberal with all the settings and came to a little under 13kva. A 25kva load is nominally 100 amps. So you can see that a 200 amp for a non electric heated home is more than enough. Jim

| Just be sure to leave your self room for all the fancy power hungry stuff you'll want to add in the future. I would never install less than a 200 amp panel on any home of mine. Even if it was a shack.
