| If you follow some simple rule, I will help you. Outside of you house ther is a gray box called a NID,SIU, or something similar. You have two color codes in use today. The old style is green/red and yellow/black (think christmas tree and bumble bee. You line one is G/R and line 2 is Y/B. red is positive or "ring" and green negative, (ring and tip in telephone talk) black is +, yellow -, etc.

| Sorry I hit the enter button. Your modern color code is line 1 blue + blue white, blue is your ring, blue/white is your tip, line 2 is orange+ orange white, get the pattern? your jack is parobably the old color code, your wire, unless it is real cheap junk, will be the new color code, inside the NID, it is usually the old color code. If so, connect the rred/green terminals on your jack to the blue/bluewhite wires in your IW(inside wire), run the IW to the nid, connect your blu/bluewhite pairs the the red/green terminals on the nid. This is basic install for POTS line.
