	Subject - Fuel storage tanks Ryan I am going to bid on a fuel storage sight where they will store gasoline, diesel and soybean oil and I was wondering if you can run pvc underground from the control room to a seal off next to the rack and then go to rigid conduit because it has to be explosion proof. Also if anyone knows where I can find explosion proof 3 phase switchs cheeper than my supplyer has, they want $ 155 per switch lctrc789 This would be a class 1 division 1 setting you CANNOT use anything other then rigid or IMC and it must be threaded at least 5 threads per coupling etc... I think there is exceptions to this such as bury PVC in two inches of concrete but that would be more expensive and a waste, if you needed to get back in the ground. As far as the explosion proof boxes etc, Shop around they are not cheap. good luck skynrd It's been awhile but I've done a couple gas stations and storage facilaties. Don't have my code book handy but there are specifications as to how deep & at what perimeter distance you have to keep when running PVC. Then we changed over to rigid when we got inside those perimeters.
