Subject - Apprenticeship selection question

I have applied for apprenticeships with various organizations in Oregon. I recently got turned down for Bonneville Power Assoc. I made it through the application and testing, but when they narrowed it down further, I was not among the "best qualified" applicants to progress to an interview. I am wondering if I should pursue this any further. I am 35 years old and have worked in the high tech field performing equipment maintenance and repairs for 11 years at the same job. My question is: Am I likely to receive an apprenticeship at my age and experience level? I'm hoping job stability counts for something. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Tom

| I remember there was at one time an age limit. Today, if the ecomony is stable in your area, most employers waive that age cap. My suggestion would be during the hiring negotations, make it a point to bring up the apprenticeship program. Get them to sponsor you. Hope you have good luck. Thanks Alfred Johnson
