The hybrid system seems like a great idea, be able to give a customer an up-front price, and charge less than the qoute or it's FREE! I think that is a great marketing move. I guess you would have to have some disclaimers about extra work being added, or unforseen circumstances. But may well be worth doing more research on. I know I personally do not like sticker shock, and I've had it come back and bite me a few times with customers.
