Can anyone give me a rough idea how much it will cost to install 3 phase into my garage, as i am about to buy a tig welder and the 3 phase units seem easier to come by .. thanx

| You need to direct this question to your power company. The cost of having three phase power run to your house may be prohibitive. That's if your electrical company will even do it. They usually can not just get it from the pole. They have to make serious changes to the power lines feeding you and your neibors homes. You could get lucky and they just happend to have this available but, this is not likely.
You can also concider buying a phase converter. which as the name implies converts the single phase power in your home to a limited amount of three phase power. This can easily negate any savings you where hoping to achieve. When you concider having an electrician come over and install this exspensive device the single phase units come out to be cheaper and easier.
