If you do not have the easy ability to change your existing website look at Joomla

http://www.joomla.org/

Free and open source. Some friends and I are trying it out and we plan to exchange notes.

If you are an electrical contractor or an electrician who types and knows the web . . .

How about a couple of caustic comments about my site here. I say caustic because I can not learn a thing if y congratulate me or say good things. All it will do is make me lazy
http://www.brooklineelectric.com/photo-gallery.html

How do I make this page user friendly?

Do you believe this hype!

On the subject of my Senior face (that old face) The good looking young women AND the older women have been telling me they chose me because they know who would be coming over to their house, there by inferring that I could be trusted. Sorry about that, all you young bucks. Maybe you should hire an old timer to do your bids. (smile)

I think that it's a good website.
But since you specifically asked for constructive criticism, I would say to correct some of your grammatical errors.
Such as this from your page on Surge Protection:

"I'm all the wiser now sits sometime around 2000 6 lead it have lightning and I lost my modem power supply Internet have been something else all at one time."

Hope this helps.

It does. I will fix it tomorrow.

How about another one. I should refrain from using DragonNaturalySpeaking but it does get my ideas out although it gives me sound alike words. THANKS

I think it also destroys the punctuation. I noticed lots of very short awkward sentences.

Its actually a lot better than your old website, but there are lots of these problems.

In the FPE section, you use the word "ark" instead of "arc".

In the arc fault section it doesn't look like you actually say what an arc fault breaker does. You talk about how it monitors the circuit, looks for problems in the sine wave, but you never actually tell them that the breaker trips under these conditions.

The size of the font varies from page to page. The small font is a little hard to read, but my comment is mostly about the lack of uniformity.

I almost started a thread yesterday about how there are at least a couple of grammatical errors on every one of these sites that promise to send a "professional uniformed technician" who has been "background checked" to my house to give me "upfront pricing". For companies trying to sell professionalism, its really amusing. I'm in the industry so I scrutinize (although, your page shouldn't be able to be mistakes pointed out by someone with a GED....), but my wife (who I imagine is in your demographic, college educated, management position, 70k+ annually, no kids) grabs them just as fast.

And then I found this one:
I was in awe of your list of references. Right off the top I found Mr. Okun's listing- 48898.22 for electrical work for move in 2008. The amount dollar amount stuck with me long enough to get down to 2006, where it looks like you did the exact same job, on the exact same house, for Mr. Okun, for the exact same price. What makes it worse, is that its the highest valued job, so if someone is scrolling down to find the largest (it might have no relevance to the $300 job they need done, they might just be curious) they'll catch it. A mistake like this in an area of such vital importance to your reputation could be devastating. I'm not even a potential customer, and I find it off putting.

Oh, one last thing- the page format is light years ahead of the old one. It is definitely way better than the old one.

Taught well

I believe I have corrected all the items you so kindly pointed out. May not the short sentences. I like em short. I haven't yet fixed the variations in font. I kind of like that too but not on the same page.

What else?

Any one else? If you help me edit I will help you with SEO or search engine optimization privately. I get 1/2 of my work from the web.

There are big problems on the grounding myths page. My computer doesn't right click, so I can't copy and paste it.

I'm busy tonight, but I'll take you up on your offer.
