Subject - Series/ parallel that hard?

At my work about 20% of journeyman electrician is confused by parallel circuits. About 30% of them confused by series circuits, but you get series/parallel circuits destroy 95%. Why is it that hard? For example we have barrel heaters of 230V three phase and others 480V three phase. So if you have 230v heaters and 480V circuit you must wire two heaters in series with each other while in parallel with next two. If 480V circuit and 480V heaters then all in parallel. Some times we have both so you have two 230V in series which is in parallel with the 480V. I do not think this hard, but obviously most do. If this is not bad enough than probably 50% of them can not figure out what resistance of heater if they know wattage and voltage. I think this is pretty bad. Am I wrong or do you guys feel this is pretty sad also?
zol_man if you dont work with it alot it can be hard for some guys.

lctrc789 Vegan, I would say teach them OHMS law and the basics of the circle, if you know what I mean the PIER theory.
veganfan I agree they need to learn ohms law, but they think it useless. Plus my other point is they do not know hoy to wire it up. Some get confussed with series others parallel. If you mix the two together you confusse almost all. For example two 230V heater band wired in serries which are then both wired in parallel with two others. All they can do is follow print, but like the other day print was for 230v not 480v so all was lost.
