Subject - 277 from a transformer
JessieP Can someone please explain how you get, in simple idiot terms, 277 from a transformer and if it is specific for a Wye or Delta system.
wareagle To get 277 volts you will need the transformer secondary connected in the Y configeration. The voltage measured between phases is 480 volts and from phase to ground is 277 volts.
JimmyDee That ground point that the measurment is take from is also the neutral point and is the center point of the Y.
