Subject - electronic tech.
tbcyberzom I am a electronic tech for 7 years now ..what do i need to do or start studying to become an electrician...Please advice
JimmyDee Find an electrical contractor that will hire you and get set up in an apprenticeship. There are many avenues to becoming an apprentice. I already mentioned one and another would be to go to your local IBEW office and apply there for an apprenticeship.

I was once in the same position. I was a technician in a huge manufacturing plant, and I wanted to get my electrical license. I started by taking NEC courses at adult continuing education programs. I also joined the local electrical association. The association,
and the local IAEI chapter regularly offer classes on a variety of topics, including NEC, grounding, etc. I took a license exam prep class that was taught by an inspector. This path to getting licensed took many years. In the mean time I continued picking up experience along the way. Also, join the local IAEI chapter.

The best advise my teacher ever gave us was this. When you're getting ready for the exam, don't think about trying to ace it. Passing the test is all that matters. Don't try to get 100%. Just try to pass. Here in Rochester, NY, that means 80%. I passed the first time I took it. I know a few guys who took it twice. There's no shame in that either.

Good luck!
