Subject - Contractor is bonded?
Cinner What does it mean when a contractor is bonded? Does it mean that...if a company is bonded for lets say $10,000 that this money is held in trust for any faulty work that they do and an unhappy customer can obtain their money back from this bond?
David Hyatt I am no expert here, but I believe a bond is required by some contractors. This is to prove your credit and accountability if a job is not completed and your suppliers will be paid. I do no one thing it is a waste of money.
sparkie2170 I am not an expert either, however there are a few different bonds. There is a completion bond which provides accountability in the event of non completion of a project. There is a licence and permit bond which is posted to give the issuing licensing agency some protection, and there is a surety bond that covers theft vandalism etc. by employees of a company. If you live in Chicago you get to know all these intamately!
veganfan I know if I go to take masters test in Indianapolis IN I have to have at least a five thousand dollar bond made out to testing center. If I test in terre Haute In I do not need this. Why? And why is it made out to place that tests me?
