Subject - Bad Circuit Breaker
Beerguy I have a circuit that feeds most of the outlets in my kitchen as well as an adjacent room. It is not uncommon that it can trip if I get too many things going.
Recently when the microwave (on that circuit), regardless of anything else is on, will experience an occaisonal drop in power (like it is struggling). I have noticed that this event is accomopanied by an audible "buzz" on the circuit breaker. I have measured the power at the breaker w/my multimeter and it was OK, but I have not taken a measurement during one of the above described events.
Is my breaker bad or do I have other problems????

Thanks for your help.

zapped208 Your microwave is probably starting to go bad.
lctrc789 Have you taken an amp probe and seen what this circuit is actually drawing?
It could be that to much on this circuit is causing the buzz and it could be that the microwave is going haywire as well.
If the circuit has to much pulling on it, it could cause the microwave to not work well.
Perhaps trying to plug the microwave in another recpt, just to see if it odes the same thing , a recpt. with nothing on it so it can get full power might tell you if this is problem or not.
You should consider running a microwave circuit and dedicate it just for that reason.
