Subject - Closet for Service Panel

I am in the process of finishing my basement. I want to build a closet to hide the electrical panel. Is this legal??

| Sure as long as your not going to keep easily ignitable subtances like clothes or boxes in there. You have to make sure there is room in front of the panel. The code requires a width of 30 inches with a depth away from the wall of 3 feet and a height of 6.5 feet. You cannot use this reserved workspace area for storage. The closet has to have a light unless there is sufficient adjacent lighting.
