Subject - Mobile home park question
veganfan I have been taking practice test for IAEI inspectors test, and one of the questions is if a mobile home park has 34 mobile homes. Then what is the minimum service entrance conductor. They come up with 1000Kcmil. I can not get this to work tried applying demand factor of 43% from table for 34 units, but several options on amp or VA rating depending on what is in mobile home. What am I missing? Can anyone help? I do not like to know answer unless I know how to get it.
KSsparky I think this is what you want. 550.31 says you can use 16,000 va for each lot. I assume you were not given actual loads. 16,000 va x 34 units = 544,000 va. Table 550.31 gives a derate of 24%, so 544,000 va x 24% = 130560 va. Divide by 240v to get 544 amps. 1000 kcmil at 75 degrees is good for 545 amps. Sound right ?
veganfan That sure seems to be it. Do not know how I over looked that. Thanks a lot you were a great help.
