Subject - Outlet rating

Does the circuit size have anything to do with the recept. rating. Example: installing 15 single outlet device on a 20 amp circuit. This circuit also supplies other outlets. Or is it based on the connected load? Code ref please.

| You can install 15 amp devices on a 15 amp circuit alone or with other devices or on a 20 amp circuit providing it has another receptacle installed on it. If it is a single device circuit, it has to have a 20 amp outlet on a 20 amp circuit. Jim
