More generator issues for me 3 phase 208 volt 80 KW propane generator, that idles at 61 HZ between each leg and neutral. Also between phase A-B and B-C it is 61 HZ. Between A-C it is 61-68 HZ, fluctuating every 2 seconds. Voltage holds steady. No fancy meters here, just an Ideal multimeter. A colleague of mine actually took the measurements. We were called in because this generator has been in service for years with no apparent problems, except recently when the large UPS for our data systems crashed because it didn't switch to the generator power.
Any thoughts as to why we are getting these readings from the generator? Thanks

| Just a guess but what if there was some additional noise on that phase causing the problem. Maybe even a loose connection somewhere on the line????? I think I would look at the wave forms with a scope and it would show you exact ally what was happening. Check it out at the generator and at the panel it feeds. Jim

| Well I ended up looking at this myself today. We did look at and clean and tighten all connections. When we started the generator though I could tell right off that something was not right. The engine itself was fluctuating. It was very slight, but it followed right along with cycles fluctation. We are going to have a factory rep look at it. I will keep you informed of their findings. FYI- I also learned today that we had a company come in and do a substantial upgrade to this generator about 10 months ago. NMaybe something went wrong there. Oh well.
