	Subject - switch gear clean up of electrical arc gwedarts Hello Anyone have any suggetions and experience in clean up after an electicial arc. Safety checks? I am facing this at work when I return. It is very hard to remove and any suggestions are greatly appreciated. thanks JimmyDee We used contact cleaner. Remember when you are done, to meg the equipment because carbon tracking will not show up with an ohm meter. Equipment that ohms out good will often blow again because a small microscopic trace will remain and the higher voltages will cause it to short out. I would meg at 2.5 or 5k volts.
