smoochie New Garage service.....How to do equipment ground?
I am running new elec. service to my unattached garage.
I have been told that I can drive a grounding rod at my garage for grounding the garage panel box verses pulling a ground conductor along with my other 3 conductors ( 2 hot and 1 nuetral). I do realize that my neutral in the garage panel box must be isolated from equipment ground bar. Is this an acceptable way to ground?
Note: I will be feeding the garage from a 50 amp double breaker using #6 conductors.
Ryan_J Have you read 250.32?

Also, regarding the ground rod, you might see 250.4(A)(5)
