Here is a couple of photos from a basement that is going to be "finished" with drywall and trim. See any code problems?

| JimmyDee | Yes a few. Staple needs to be 8" from non clamp box. Staple needs to be 12" from can light. NM needs to be stapled at least Jim |

| bigvic | Box seems to be rough to be flush with drywall. Bracket is a half inch back. |

| cs409 | You(Ryan) know its 1 1/4",,,,,but it isnt 300.4(a)... nothing in the above about bored holes,,,,it was in reference to paralled to framing members, so it would be 300.4(d).... and Jimmy, the entire NM must stay 1 1/4" from surface..."the cable or raceway shall be installed and supported so that the nearest outside surface of the cable or raceway is not less than 1 1/4" from the nearest edge of the framing member.... bottom line,,,,u will have to use a lot of staples to maintain this 1 1/4" not for the staples only but for the entire cable....or u will use the plate as mentioned.... |
