Subject - elec stove wiring
luke I just bought a house trailer & it was hooked up for gas.
My wife & i do not trust gas hook ups.
So we have changed the stove & water heater to electric.
I have hooked up the water heater & now in the process of connecting standard electric house stove.
I have disconnected & caped all exsisting gas lines.
I in turn had a electrian friend wire up my elec water heater.
Now i have to buy & run wire for the electric stove.
I would require approx 80 foot from outside breaker box running the wire under the trailer to stove location.
My questions are price wise what type wire can i use aluminum or copper? What size wire ? I was told to use #8 ? Is aluminum wire safe to use today ? I know it is proberly Cheaper ? What store do you recommend for my money ?
Email me
Thank You
JimmyDee For the few $$ you will save, the negatives of aluminum are not worth it to me. I would always use copper for everything in a house. Any of the HomeDepotMenard's type stores have value pricing.

cs409 Get your electrian friend to check it out for you and let him tell you what size/type wire etc etc u need.... just a personal note......I WOULD NEVER EVER EVER HAVE A TOTAL ELECTRICAL HOME...one thing about my space heater....it works great when it is 22degs or even 45 degs even when the power goes off due to down tree or for what ever reason! just my thoughts....
