	Subject - 3 phase generator cleancutstudios I have a 1977 onan generator 40 kv 3 phase how do i get 240 single phase all my legs read 112 or 208 on any pair thanks frank frenchelectrician frank: on some generators they have multi wire hook up there. and you have to look at the name plate and wireing connetions to change over to delta connection but bear in mind some generators cant change over to delta due the winding inside of the generator. i work on few of them some have 6 leads some have 9 leads and some have 12 leads but as i say again please check the wiring digram to make sure. merci , marc JimmyDee If you would take a picture of the wiring diagram and e-mail it to Scott Vickrey, he will post it and someone will give you a very accurate answer. Cover up the high-side connections and connect the pot neutral to the gen neutral. Connect any one of the 120 legs (and only one) to one side of the pot secondary. Use both sides of the pot secondary and the neutral for a 60-amp 120/240 single-phase service.
