Subject - maximum number of breakers

I was recently inspecting a newly renovated row/townhome in the Philadelphia area. I found a 100 amp subpanel with 30 breakers in it. 4 of the breakers were for 1-1/2 ton a/c units. Correct me if I'm wrong, generally 20 breakers max is recommended.

| I've seen panels with more breakers than that. Still, the panel is probablly overloaded. The number depends on the design of the panel.

| I agree with Scott panel is probably over loaded but code states in answer to your question not more then 42 OCD in one panel.
