| There are 3 wire cables made for residential services . If its not run in conduit, SE cable, you can purchase it a any home or electrical supply house. The cable will have a smaller neutral I believe its two 4/0 and one 2/0 aluminum.

| Be careful of where you live, in IL(at least where I live)whether the cable or conductors are in conduit or not, the neutral conductor MUST be the same size as the hot conductors, so by that, the (2)4/0 + (1)2/0 AL would not pass and not be connected to service until replaced. Check with you local utility, they can give you a spec. sheet specific to THEM, remember they are not bound by NEC

| do a search for your local utility online,,,,,,,on this site they will list the dos and donts,,,,an most show pictures/diagrams etc of what is exceptable...I for one am not a fan, nor would i use cable without conduit... am also one that never uses a smaller neutral on the service, as stated some areas will not allow ...and, u would be wise to contact AHJ in your area and inquire also! best of luck.

| i read your original post again and noticed u said "from the meter box to the service panel"...the local utility dictates the conductors size all the way to the weatherhead. In my area (and by NEC) for 200amp its 2/0 CU or 4/0 AL for ALL conductors, for residential (as stated above)... concensus seems to be...check with utility and AHJ to make sure before spending $1+ per foot on wire you can't use

| oops...should have been more clear..apologies....NEC does allow the neutral to be one wire size smaller(i think...dont hesitate to correct if I'm wrong), the "ALL" was in regards to my area/utility company.
