Subject - load balancing
David Hyatt I am still studing load balancing and came across another simple question. If you have a 2400w 240 volt load it would draw 10amps. Would that be 10amps on line one and 10amps on line two or 5 on each?
Electricman I would say both, just a guess though. Ask Jimmy he would know.
Scott Vickrey Sometimes simple questions can make us doubt what we know to be true. 2400 watts at 240 volts is 10 amps. This is a simple series circuit and current is constant all the way around the circuit so, each line will see 10 amps.

Ditto, however, no neutral needed and no current on the neutral if there is one.
