Subject - Romex
David Hyatt I was looking in the 93 code and if I read correctly then in houses over three stories you could not use Romex. I know that is the code in buildings but I think it said the same in residential back then??
rabbitgun Yes, Quote from 84 NEC 336-3

....."permitted to be used in one-and two family dwellings and other structures provided that such dwellings or structures do not exceed three floors above grade".............
devo I don't have my code book with me(this may be a MA amendment) but I believe that Romex is not allowed to be run BETWEEN floors so the best bet if it is a big job is to do sub-panels and limit the MC homeruns
