Subject - 15 amp receptacle on 20 amp circuit
djhamilton Previously NEC would not allow a 15 amp duplex receptacle to be used to pass a 20 amp load thru it. Pig tail had to be wired to the receptacle from the 20 amp conductors if 15 amp receptacle were to be used. Is this still a requirement? I can't find it in the NEC book 2002.
Ryan_J It has never been a requirement.
INDIANA You might take a look @ pg 56 article 210.20 B1 B2 B3 B4. This may help clarify your question. With the charts and all.
