Subject - Electrical line burying code
awhit22 As I understand the residential code, a electrical line run underground needs to be burried at least 18 inches down and be run thru a conduit. Is that correct? The property I'm working with is in Maricopa County, AZ. I'm also having a hard time finding the specifc code to reference. Anyone know where to find it for AZ?

Thanks,
JimmyDee NEC = 18", 24" = Better.

awhit22 Perfect. Thanks for the help.
Ryan You can also fun UF cable and that doesn't have to be ran in conduit or URD aluminum cable which also doesn't have to be in conduit as for the bepth I always run them atleast 2 ft. below grade.

Interesting thing to note here is that the Code does not recognize any URD cable.

You have to look under type "USE" for its uses, I believe.
