Subject - Wake up Texas Electrician
Lghtning4u Wake up Electrician,

http://www.t-e-s-a.com/

Did you realize that the State of Texas Electrical Licensing Law does not require a Journeyman Electrician on-site of any electrical work performed in the state (See HB 1487 Rules; 73.10, Def. 7). An apprentice electrician can legally wire any residential, commercial or industrial job without a Journeyman on-site. A Journeyman Electrician is soon to be like a dinosaur-EXTINCT!

Why should an electrical job in a municipality be permitted and inspected, and a similar job in the county not require permits and inspections? Is a human life in the county not important?

There are less than 45,000 licensed Plumbers in the State of Texas and they have their own Independent State Plumbing Board. We have over 87,000 licensed Electricians and we share a board with Auctioneers, Talent Agencies, Court Reporters and 20 other unrelated occupations. We need our own independent board!

If you care about the Electrical trade or electrician safety in the State of Texas call your state representative and senator and tell them to amend HB 1487 or END HB 1487.
BigTxD2 So, your saying that this texas law over rides the new state electrical licenses that begain recently?
Lghtning4u No, I'm saying this is already in place as Texas law enforced by TDLR.

Alfred I feel for anyone that expects an apprentice to do the job! Most contractor use apprentices to pull cable, run conduit, install j-boxes,etc. then get an eletrician to go in and cleans it up! You get what you pay for in good help.
Thanks Alfred Johnson
shocky hi
lctrc789 We have a PILOT program here and a 3 rd year apprentice can run and do small strip centers and residential work on their own without a jorneyman present... But also bear in mind we have self certification tags here for inspections (meaning the licensed individual has certified his own work for inspection) and he/she or a competent employee are on this site where these guys run work and do weekly walk throughs on thses jobs..
justinelect I think you should reread the definition of On-Site Supervision. The apprentice does not have to be under constant supervision, however there has to be on-site supervision. This isn't anything new--There still has to be someone licensed on the job other than an apprentice. http://www.license.state.tx.us/electricians/elecrules.htm#7310 Definition #11 Electrical Apprentice

Alfred Justin:
I find it hard to believe that self certification tag are legal. This mean that what ever an electrician deems ok is legal. With this in mind there should be some check or balance in this system. Consumers are at the mercy of this work. That's like letting the fox in the chicken coup. I know that in Tennessee everybody gets checked . I would have thought that Texas would be a leader in this catagory.
Thanks Alfred Johnson
