Subject - NEC and OSHA question

If an extension cord (120V/50'long) intended for use in a Class 1, Div 2 area is fitted with one explosion proof twist-lock connector at the source end, is the load end (and subsequently, the load) required to have a twist-lock connector?
If the load (power tool) is not intrinsically safe, and therefore required to have a hot work permit and continuous flammable gas monitor, can I have a standard (not explosion proof) electrical socket?
Any documentation from OSHA and NEC would be very helpful.
Thanks

| Can anybody take a stab at this? Or should I try a different area of the forum?
Thanks,

| If you are using a motor controlled - saw, drill, or anything that can create a spark within itself in a class 1 situation you should have a hot work permit so why/ would you have to have an explosion proof apparatus on the same end that creates sparks within itself.

| You have to use an approved fitting for this. Check with your sales rep., if he or she is pretty sharp they can look up this fitting in the catalogue for you. Thanks Alfred Johnson
