While working on a Mc Donald's hid lighting circuit, I found that the breaker was wasted so I called the shop and asked for 2p 240v hid breaker. The best they could do was a switchable breaker. I had one on the truck so i used it. Stuff like that happens all the time. Little stuff not to code that I let slide. But if it is a whopper of a code violation, I call the owner (master E) and give him the option, and to his credit he usually does the right thing, but.. is this how everyone does business? I'm a service electrician and I'm struggling with the bottom line.
PS I don't waffle on grounding, not even a little.

| Sure, we've all been there. But, I'm not going to admit to my violations.

| Why not give the person paying the bill (McDonald's in this case) the option to pay to do the job correctly? More than likely they will pay to do the job right. If not just grab the breaker and the next time back or in the area change it out.

| the HID breaker for the hid lighting is for the major current draw at start up....using a reg breaker isnt a major problem other than nuisance tripping...as mentioned above, i would put one in the truck and next time your in the area just swap it out..........
