Subject - Service Panel in bad shape, need help labeling swi
Johnny916 Hi, I was hired to label a service panel the other day. I did the best I could and labeled everything except a couple breakers which I absolutely could not find!

What's the best way to go about tracing a breaker to it's outlets/switches/appliances?? Is it still the good old fashion way, shutting off and testing?
Tmibowl You have a lot of questions on this web site as to basic basic electrical knowledge that an electricican would know. How is it that you are to do this type of work (HIRED) without the basic working knowledge of electricity? You have posted many questions on many different subjects on this site and am wondering as to you job title and what kind of company that you work for.

Safety is number ONE.

No! Just hire an electrician!
Tmibowl I don't want to be responsible for you getting hurt or Electrocuted or killed. Electricity is nothing to just fool around with on a time to time basis. You say that you were (hired) to label a service panel, since you are in training and have had a few months of schooling, where is you journeyman while you are in training. I'm not trying to be mean, but life is to short as it is and being on your own with electricity just increases the odds for life to be shorter.
Wirenutz One of the things i have conceeded to in recent years is that residents should know thier dwellings 'mechanicals'...

It beehovees them to know what circuits do what, and can be done without a tool (unless you consider a radio or bell a tool) , poses no threat , and is iirc, a UL standard to work the mechanical function of a circuit breaker once a year.

how much time do we charge out finding the circuit we want to work on people? want a little good pr? guess what, if we don't that big orange store around the corner will
