	Subject - 20 amp receptacles BASE Just wondering, when you install a 20 amp circuit, do you use 20 amp receptacles or 15 amp? Say you have 6 rec. on 1 20 amp breaker with 12-2 wire, do you use 15 or 20 amp rec? New here, hope this hasn't been covered. B Romex Racer You use 15. You only have to use a 20 amp receptacle if it's the only receptacle on that 20 amp circuit. kbsparky You can use either 15 or 20 Amp devices on that 20 Amp circuit. If any one outlet is intended to use more than 12 Amps, then the 20 Amp circuit is a must.
