Subject - Rigid conduit bending
dfreund to find the distance between any offset bends I found a very useful formula:
hieght of offset divided by the sine of the angle.

To keep a rack of conduits with offsets parellel and the same spaceing
use The tan of half the angle times the center to center distance. This gives you the distance to move your bend on the next conduit.
eric240v Funny, I always got away with adding the space desired between the conduits on the rack-- usually 2 to 4 inches depending on conduit size. At least enough to get some clamps in place. It's easy, doesn't require a calculator, and it looks really nice when it's finished. Not that your method isn't useful. I'm sure there are lots of ways to achieve a usable distance between bends. Think about it. Whatever distance you add to the first mark of your last conduit, that's where the next one will make it's move.
