| K&T wiring is nearing the end of it's service life. The best thing to do is save the work of grounding the plugs and run new romex to the plugs. Leave the K&T wiring for the lights which will not have a heavy load like the plugs could have with a heater or etc. This is what the chief building inspector did here in San Francisco, and it is a good plan since you have access under the floor.

if your house was build 1870 than the electric was put in after the house was build most of the time if you look at the floors you can see where the electrician cut the floor and pulled up two boards and ran knob and tube since no one used much fir blocking back then you can get romex any where you want we do a ton of old houses and can rewire all rec through the acess in the floor cant tell we pulled floor when done.

| Knob and Tube can be dangerous, but it sure looks cool! I thought it would be neat to wire a barn in knob and tube just to see what it would be like. Image drilling all those holes with a lean n bit. Whenever I come across the stuff I always take time to admire the ways of old. Wouldn't it be funny to wire something in knob and tube and call for an inspection? (what a wierd sense of humor)
