I've just recieved a catalog in the mail from Electrical Distributors, Inc. It seems like they have really good pricing.
yellow wire nuts $20.72 /m (NSI Brand equiv.) reds $25.88 /m (NSI Brand equiv.) all color tape $ .39 /roll single pole switch $.33 (leviton equiv) duplex recept. $.29 15-20 GFCI $5.90 single pole decora $.78 3/w decora $.82 4/w decora $2.25 exit/em combo fixutre w/backup 29.99
no minimum order. You call in your order, they will give a quote plus shipping and handling if you accept they will ship it, and you will recieve in 3 days. I though I would order a box of each product to see the quality, and if it is good, I will save probably $300.00 a month and more on busier months. If you are interested in ordering a catalog the number is 800-507-6190 there are out of Orlando Florida....Hopfuly this works out!

| This outfit sounds similar to SunStar Lighting also located in Florida. I'd be willing to bet that their wiring devices are made by Preferred Industries ?

| kbsparky,
How are Preferred Industries? I asked the guy on the phone what brands they were, he said they were made by other major brands (like leviton, or equiv). So I'm not sure what to expect.

I prefer P&S over Leviton and Eagle (now called Cooper). SunStar lighting sells Preferred Industries devices, and they are about the same quality as Leviton. I tried a couple of boxes of them, about a year ago.
I do use PI's nylon wall plates. For about 15 cents per gang, and being unbreakable and all, can't beat `em.
I'm interested in what they send you from your order. Let us know which brand(s) you get, and what you think their quality should be rated at.

| kbsparky,
I will let you know. I use P&S myself. I currently pay $9.35 a gfci, .38 recept, .48 sw, .92 3/w, were I would safe huge is wirenuts, and decora (almost half). If the brand it descent I would order them cases of 200 at a time and safe big! I probably will still use the P&S plates, I like the way they look, and there inexpensive.

| How about the Ideal Purple Co-Lar wirenuts. Do they have these at a discount, too? Currently getting them from Maintenance Warehouse for about $300.00 per 1000. Looking to do better.

| go to www.sunstarlighting.com youll have to fill out info and fax a licence to them, but not bad prices. their perfered industries stuff aint that bad. id put it between p+s and cooper. only thing is that their ivory is more yellow than ivory, but the white is ok. hard to mess up white
|
|
nfsus
| by the way, you cant mix p+s plates and pi devices for the ivory. i tried it and it didnt work at all. dont try it

Mike Delaney
| nfsus,
That's exactly what I was going to try. I like the p&s plates, so I was going to mix and match. There GFI's are a steal, same with there decora devices, and wirenuts, have to just see them first.
