Dear Friends I recently have taken a Journeymans exam and one of the ques. was. When steel conduit is used as an equip. grounding conductor used in tunnels, and over 600 volts, what voltage is allowed on the conduit? It was multiple choice and I found tunnels over 600 volts in 110.IV. And article 490 Equip. Over 600 volts, but have not figured the answer yet:I hope that someone could help. All I knew was common sense and marked 1000 Volts since it was over 600 volts, and steel Ridged conduit is used as an equip. grounding conductor. Thanks. Glynn

| I've never heard of anything like this. The only grounding bonding rules that I see that are based on high voltage is for over 1,000 volts, not over 600 volts.

| I have heard of this before, for the most part anything over 600 volts is considered high voltage. Utility companies have rules and specs that state over 600 volts is high voltage.

| i was just taught in class that 1000-35000 is medium voltage. obvviously less is considered low and more is high

| Pat: I was refering to the fact that part 10 of article 250 is for high voltage, 1K and over.
